Cushing is a diverse community of approximately 8,371 ideally situated less than 1 hour from Oklahoma City and Tulsa. We are also within 30 minutes of Big 12 Conference member Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. We are continuing to experience positive economic growth, and the construction of a new $5.5 million dollar public safety center is in progress.

CLEET certified candidates begin at $30,035.09, and upon successful completion of the FTO Program the salary increases to $30,880.55.

An officer with prior service of more than eighteen months as a CLEET certified police officer with another agency is eligible to be considered for a compensation range between $30,880.55 - $35,804.59 upon successful completion of the FTO Program. In addition, the following other factors are also evaluated: previous work experience, training and education.

What we offer:

  • Commitment to officer development and professional growth
  • College incentive compensation: $25.00 per month for an Associate   Degree from an accredited college or university. $50.00 per month for a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Officers who successfully complete the FTO Program and reside within        the established residency requirement are eligible to participate in the        Take Home Vehicle Program.
  • $70.00 monthly uniform cleaning allowance
  • All equipment: shotgun, pistol, duty rig, body armor, uniforms, hat,         handcuffs, baton, X26 Taser, and radio
  • Paid employee medical insurance and very low cost family coverage
  • Oklahoma Police Pension System retirement plan
